Since the fall of humankind, the plan of God for the earth is restoration and re-conquest. The “restoration of all things” begins with the family. The sins of our ancestors have left us broken role models and relationships which have robbed us of the restoration we so desperately need to take back from the enemy as more than conquerors.
Pastors and leaders must receive teaching tools to transform spiritual orphans into true worshipers and spiritual warriors so necessary for the advance of the gospel. Mothers and fathers must learn to fulfill their God-given roles as spiritual priests to prepare their children for a vital relationship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Restored families lead to restored churches against which the gates of hell shall not prevail. The ministry of restoration of the family is a vital task for all serious minded Christians.
The apostle Paul made it very clear that one of the principal signs of the end times is that we would go through difficult and troublesome times.
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, imposters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, petty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
This profile of the end-times individual is primarily the result of the disintegration of the family; people who are deformed in their souls building themselves a history of ruined relationships. The failure of marriage has left an incalculable negative balance, impoverishing the moral and emotional capacity of a whole generation. People who have been exploited, abandoned, abused, betrayed, frustrated, unprotected, hurt and cursed have become victims of these is eschatological prophecies.
Paul also warns prophetically about the apostasy and the clever and seductive doctrines of demons.
“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:1-2)
With the same intensity by which the book of Revelation is unveiled, the job of the church to preach the Gospel and disciple the nations becomes even more challenging. The time ahead will become more and more difficult and troublesome. Therefore the key is to know how to confront these “toilsome times” with the “toilsome work” of Jesus.
“He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.” (Isaiah 53:11)
If we want to please God, we need to shake off the dust of religiosity and convert to a wise faith that is capable of translating the sacrifice of Christ into a dimension that overcomes the “multiplication of iniquities” and the sanitizing of the world which will eventually culminate in the government of the antichrist.
